Celebrating World Photography Day 2020

Wednesday 19 August 2020

Celebrating World Photography Day in a year which has been so unexpected, we look back at some of the beautiful moments captured by our teams within our Majesticare care homes.
Each stunning photo, a moment shared and a unique, touching memory to tell the story behind the photo.

What better day to share some of the most heart-warming and truly fabulous photos than #WorldPhotographyDay

Oaklodge Care Home, Chard Somerset
Taken by Wayne, Activities Lead

Lillian Walker, age 90. The day of the engagement ring, age 17

This striking photo is our lovely resident Lillian now and then. Lillian was just 17 years old, when she and her husband to be, traveled from Chard, Somerset to Exeter to buy their engagement ring.

This stunning depiction of their day was captured using the little extra money that they had leftover from buying the ring.  Such a special moment captured of a lifelong memory for Lillian.

Lashbrook House Care Home, Henley on Thames
Taken by Kulsums Family

A rose meaning “Love” to recognise 20 years.

Following Kulsum’s recent retirement from a wonderful career spanning an amazing 20 years at Lashbrook House Care Home, the team decided to surprise her home & presented her with one of Majesticare’s Roses of Recognition ‘Delectio’ meaning Love, Goodwill & Delight, our Heart value.
Kulsum has always worked tirelessly to give her all for the residents & others.

This is Me. Now and then.

Georgina is one of our wonderful residents within our Clover memory care community at Fernhill House Care Home. On Clover floor, is a wall of stunning old photos of all our memory care residents to stimulate memories of their younger days and their life history.

This truly beautiful, and heart-warming photo shows Georgina then and now, alongside her younger self and it is just stunning to see that almost nothing has changed!

John & Margaret, our love. 64 years.

John & Margaret, our lovebirds and new residents to the Oaktree Court Somerset Suite, enjoyed the most beautiful day celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary together earlier this month.
Such a special day and such a special moment of love captured.
Our wonderful team at Oaktree Court Care Home gave the lovely couple an anniversary celebration always to be remembered.

Milton Ernest Hall Care Home, Milton Ernest, Bedfordshire

The chequered flag. Alf’s nightly races.

Each hobby and interest our residents adore are always celebrated at Milton Ernest Hall and this is such of our lovely resident Alf and his passion for Scalextric.
Since the Scalextric set was first brought out on Father’s Day, you can be sure to find Alf racing the cars around the track! We’ve even caught Alf deep into the night, sneaking downstairs to better his laptime!
Taken one afternoon, this photo shows that pure concentration and wonderful enjoyment of Alf & his Scalextric.
