Celebrating Pride Month!

Reflecting on what’s been a fabulous month celebrating Pride throughout our Majesticare care homes & across our entire Majesticare family, it feels poignant as June draws to a close to talk about our “Pride in Care” pledge.

Majesticare are incredibly proud to raise the equality flag and earlier this year we invested in training specialist LGBT+ “Pride allies” within our Care Homes. Through an educational training program with Opening Doors London*, our specially trained Pride allies provide invaluable support to our residents, colleagues, friends, and families.

Angela Boxall, our COO commented, “We recognise that every life is a life to be enjoyed and identity is what makes us who we are and we will continue to create safe places for people to live and be able to express who they are.”

Majesticare Pride Allies are recognisable through the Heart Pride badge that they wear, they encourage good practice leading by example and continuing to educate all to fully support an inclusive environment.

Paul Turvey, Head of Memory Care & Pride Ally at Cavendish Park Care Home promoted how proud he was to be part of our Majesticare Family in a recent LinkedIn post, “Thank you for allowing me to be me ?”

Our pledge is to embrace every unique individual living and working in our communities, irrespective of gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or appearance and will make a conscious decision not to judge, but to uphold the personhood of all.

At Majesticare, we will continue to step up and place a high presence of Pride in Care in our homes to make people’s lives not just equally outstanding but personally amazing!

“Pride in Care” is a quality standard awarded by Opening Doors London to organisations assessed as providing quality care and support to LGBT+ people over 50.
