A Year of Impact: Celebrating Our Majesticare Grant Stories
At Majesticare, we believe that when communities come together, incredible things happen. Our Majesticare Grant programme exists to recognise, support, and celebrate the people who go above and beyond to make a difference—and this year has been nothing short of inspiring.
From environmental sustainability and grassroots fundraising to elite sport and compassionate end-of-life care, each grant recipient has reminded us just how powerful kindness, determination, and community spirit can be.
Supporting Spaces That Bring Communities Together
We were proud to kick off the year by awarding our first Majesticare Grant of 2025 to Debbie Harrison at Cavendish Park. The £250 grant supported fundraising efforts to replace a condemned boiler at St Mary & St Milburgh Church in Offenham, helping to ensure a warm, welcoming, and reliable space for everyone who relies on the church.
This award felt especially meaningful as the church also achieved Silver Eco Church Status, recognising its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility—values that strongly align with Majesticare’s own.

Courage, Community, and Cancer Research
In May, we were delighted to award a grant to Lucy Kemp, supporting her stepdaughter Kelsey’s participation in Kelsey’s Muddy Race, an event raising vital funds for cancer research.
This grant celebrated not just fundraising, but bravery, family support, and the determination to turn personal challenges into positive action. Stories like Lucy and Kelsey’s perfectly reflect the heart of our communities and the reason the Majesticare Grant programme exists.

Walking with Purpose: Trek26 for Alzheimer’s Society
Another powerful story came from Tea Ross, who took on the enormous challenge of Trek26, walking 26 miles through the Cotswolds to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
What made Tea’s journey so special was not just the miles covered, but the transformation along the way—weeks of training, lifestyle changes, and a growing passion for health and wellbeing, all driven by a desire to support people affected by dementia. Every step taken helped raise awareness and funds for a cause that touches so many families.

A Young Fundraiser with a Big Heart
July brought a particularly heart-warming moment when Poppy one of our own Majesti-kids was chosen as our grant winner, selected by special guest judge Neil Eastwood, Founder and CEO of Care Friends.
Taking on her very first fundraiser, Poppy committed to covering 31 miles across August, combining walking, cycling, swimming, and running to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital and their mission to “Do More for Sick Kids”.
Her compassion, determination, and enthusiasm reminded us that you’re never too young to make a meaningful difference.

Championing Inclusion on the World Stage
This year also saw us supporting Jamie Clarke, who was selected to represent Great Britain Deaf Football at the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo.
Jamie’s journey highlights the reality many Deaf athletes face—competing at an elite level without sponsorship or government funding. His fundraising efforts aim to cover essential costs including travel, accommodation, kit, interpreters, and insurance.
By supporting Jamie, we were proud to stand behind inclusion, representation, and the visibility of Deaf sport on a global stage.
Running with Compassion: Supporting Sobell House Hospice
In October, we awarded our Majesticare Grant to Claudette, whose fundraising efforts for Sobell House Hospice Charity deeply moved our judging panel.
Claudette completed the Oxford Half Marathon, raising funds for a hospice that provides compassionate care to over 4,000 people each year. Her motivation was personal—supporting a lifelong friend and her family as they navigate terminal illness.
Her strength, empathy, and determination perfectly embodied what the Majesticare Grant stands for: care that extends far beyond our homes and into the heart of our communities.

Living Our Values, One Grant at a Time
Every story we’ve supported this year reflects the values that guide us at Majesticare:
- Adventurous – being bold and embracing new possibilities
- Family – nurturing connection, safety, and support
- Happiness – celebrating joy, effort, and achievement
- Heart – leading with compassion and courage
- Trust – acting with honesty, openness, and integrity
Through these grants, we’ve seen these values brought to life in the most meaningful ways.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride
We would like to say a heartfelt congratulations to our winner, Mel Hoskins, who chose to donate her prize in support of her son, George, and his participation in The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride on the 18th May 2025.
George rode alongside thousands of men and women across the world, united not just by polished boots and pressed tweed, but by a shared purpose: to raise awareness and vital funds for prostate cancer and men’s mental health. For George, this cause is deeply personal. He sadly lost his beloved grandfather to prostate cancer, and this ride was a powerful way to honour his memory while helping protect future generations
Too many men continue to suffer in silence. On average, men die six years earlier than women, often from causes that are preventable with awareness, support, and early intervention. These are not just statistics — they are fathers, grandfathers, sons, brothers, friends, and partners.
Together, our community came together in solidarity. With tweed pressed and boots polished, riders took to the streets to send a clear message: it’s time to talk, time to care, and time to support the men in our lives.
We are incredibly proud of George, and thankful to everyone who continues to stand beside this cause. When we ride together, we remind every man that he is not alone — and that his life truly matters.

Looking Ahead
As we reflect on the year, we’re incredibly proud to have played a small part in so many powerful journeys. Each grant represents more than financial support—it represents belief, encouragement, and community standing together.
As we move into a new year, we’re excited to continue championing local causes, amplifying inspiring stories, and finding new ways to support the people who make our communities so special. We can’t wait to see what lies ahead and to keep building positive change together.
Thank you to everyone who applied, shared their story, fundraised, walked, ran, competed, and cared. This is what community truly looks like—and we’re honoured to be part of it.
