Music, Creativity and a Community That Feels Like Family
At Cavendish Park Care Home in Evesham, Christmas is not just a celebration — it’s a shared experience. It’s found in music drifting through the rooms, hands busy with crafts over cups of tea, and neighbours, volunteers and residents coming together to create something truly special.
This festive season, our home was filled with laughter, creativity and the unmistakable feeling of togetherness that makes Christmas so meaningful.
A Very Merry Christmas with a Touch of Rock ’n’ Roll
One of the standout moments of the season was a truly joyful afternoon of music, as residents enjoyed festive tunes brought to life by an Elvis Presley tribute. With familiar songs, toe-tapping rhythms and a little rock ’n’ roll magic, the performance filled Cavendish Park with smiles, laughter and plenty of sing-along moments.
Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, and this performance sparked memories, lifted spirits and created a warm, lively atmosphere that could be felt throughout the home.

Sharing Time at Our Community Coffee Morning
As the year drew to a close, we hosted our last Community Coffee Morning of the year, a much-loved tradition at Cavendish Park. Residents, visitors and members of the local community gathered to share conversation, laughter and time together — the true heart of Christmas.
It was a gentle, joyful way to slow down, catch up with familiar faces and celebrate the season in each other’s company, reminding us that the simplest moments are often the most meaningful.

Saying Thank You to Our Incredible Volunteers
Christmas is also a time for gratitude, and we were delighted to host a special Christmas lunch for our wonderful volunteers in our private dining room. Our fantastic catering team prepared a delicious festive meal as a small way of saying thank you to those who give so much of their time, care and energy to our home.
From Star Award-winning Sheila, who keeps our garden looking beautiful, to Sandie, who ensures Muriel and Barbara enjoy their weekly crosswords, and Lyn, who lovingly supports our knit and natter group — every volunteer plays a part in making Cavendish Park feel like home.
It was a pleasure to celebrate these incredible individuals and to show just how much they are appreciated by residents and staff alike.

Handmade Cards and Festive Creativity
Creativity took centre stage as residents gathered to make their very own handmade Christmas cards. With plenty of laughter, shared ideas and endless cups of tea, the craft room was filled with festive cheer.
Each card was made with care, love and a touch of Christmas magic — beautiful reminders that creativity has no age limit and that making something together can be just as joyful as the finished result.

A Community Celebration to Remember
Our first Christmas event of the season was a wonderful success, bringing together residents, volunteers, neighbours and students from TDMS, who helped decorate the home and spread festive cheer. It was heart-warming to see our community come together in such a meaningful way.
We were also delighted to welcome Working World, who treated everyone to delicious tea and cakes, adding an extra layer of warmth and indulgence to the day. And of course, no Christmas celebration would be complete without a surprise visit from Santa himself — proving it’s never too early for festive magic!

Kicking Off the Festivities at the Cavendish Christmas Market
The excitement continued as we kicked off our Christmas celebrations with the Cavendish Christmas Market. Residents, families and members of the community were invited to browse stalls, enjoy festive treats and share Christmas cheer together.
It was a joyful morning filled with friendly faces, seasonal flavours and a real sense of community — the perfect way to celebrate the countdown to Christmas.
