An adventure through time at Milton Ernest Hall

Our home in Bedfordshire, Milton Ernest Hall, had a very special theme to their Care Home Open Week. They spent the duration of the week delving back into the rich history of the home. Milton Ernest Hall is a Grade 1 listed home built in 1854, originally the home was used as a family mansion, the house and land were sold in 1786. Over the years, Milton Ernest Hall has been utilised as a restaurant, garden centre and even an American World War 2 base up until 1946!

Throughout the week, Milton Ernest Hall have hosted activities that celebrate a moment of the homes history. On Monday, residents enjoyed an illuminating afternoon with a local historian, who shared fascinating stories over refreshments. Tuesday brought the sounds and flavours of wartime America, featuring themed music and cuisine.

Wednesday transformed the home into an elegant restaurant, with team members donning waiter and waitress attire to serve a multi-course gourmet meals. The following day, the home became a bustling garden centre, allowing residents to select plants and seeds before enjoying a sunny planting session outdoors.

The week culminated in a grand Friday finale for Care Home Open Week. The local community joined residents in the garden for a joyous celebration featuring live music and refreshments, highlighting the vibrant spirit of Milton Ernest Hall today!

Majesticare StarCatchers

Care Home Open Week has been the perfect opportunity to show potential candidates what a career in care is all about! At our three Majesticare care homes we have hosted a Recruitment StarCatcher Event through CHOW. Job candidates or job seekers in the local community were invited into the home to experience the activities, meet the team and residents and see what working in care is all about. It is important to remember that a care home has lots of different careers and job avenues, from housekeeping and maintenance to administration and catering… each job is a cog in the care machine!
