Inspiring the Next Generation: The Prince’s Trust

Majesticare Family Member Ellie recently had the privilege of addressing a group of young adults at a Prince’s Trust session, shedding light on the rewarding world of adult social care. She offered insights into various roles within the field, emphasising the importance of values over qualifications. Ellie passionately shared her experiences as an activity coordinator, showcasing the joyous moments and avenues for feeling valued in her role.

The Prince’s Trust is an organisation that help young people succeed and flourish in new roles. Their sessions are all about building confidence and life skills!

During the session, Ellie highlighted the significance of every role within a care home, explaining the collaborative nature of the care environment.

Her talk resonated with a former care home housekeeper and even sparked curiosity in another attendee, who previously considered only caregiving roles. This attendee said she was now open to exploring what other roles could be suited to her in social care. Ellie organised to have those who were interest in a care career visit her home, Cavendish Park Care Home, in Evesham for taster activity sessions with the lovely residents.

Ellie Lucas embarked on her journey as an Activities Coordinator at Cavendish Park, in 2021. Leveraging her creative talents, she brought joy to residents while also becoming an ambassador for NAPA (The National Activities Providers Association). Over time, Ellie’s dedication and passion propelled her to the role of Activities Lead, earning numerous Majesticare Star Awards along the way. Despite her achievements, Ellie remains committed to infusing residents’ lives with happiness and magic every single day, fueling her enduring passion for her role in care.
