Saffron, Deputy Manager
Meet Saffron, Oaktree Court’s Deputy Manager who joined our Wellington family in May 2023.
Saffron has been a Registered Nurse for almost 35 years having trained at the Royal Berkshire in Reading, before relocating with her family to the beautiful Somerset in 1991. She has enjoyed a hugely rich and fulfilling career working within the NHS spending over 18 years in Intensive Care, a place she found hugely rewarding. Most recently Saffron has worked as a Matron overseeing numerous departments at the Bristol and West and Dorchester hospitals.
I've found my true passion
Having very recently started working in older people care homes Saffron says she knew from the very beginning, she’d found her niche.
“I love what I do, it’s so different being able to share someone’s life, to get to know who they are and make Oaktree Court a place that they can call home.”
Being part of a small team where Saffron feels she can bring her extensive clinical experience to lead and coach her team is something that she is so passionate about. “It’s wonderful to be back on the floor providing day-to-day guidance and supervision, I’m really excited to develop our already brilliant team!”
Away from work, Saffron has two beautiful daughters and loves to travel and socialise with her fabulous group of girlfriends! With one of her daughters living oversees, there’s nothing she loves more than hopping on a plane to spend time with her girls!
