Cost of Care

FAQ's

What type of funding do you accept?
Majesticare Care Homes are privately funded care homes. This means that our Weekly Resident Fees are payable by either the resident or a third-party contributor.

Do you accept funding from the NHS and other local Authorities?
Yes, in some circumstances we can accept funding from the NHS, CHC (Continuing Health Care) and other Local Authorities.
However, it should be noted that if this does not cover the full amount of the Weekly Resident Fee, the residual amount will be payable by the resident and/or a third-party contributor. In the event that this funding is withdrawn, the resident and/or third-party contributor will be responsible for payment of the full amount of the Weekly Resident Fee.

Will I need to provide proof of funds?
We understand that providing proof of funds when monies may be tied up in property can be difficult which is why we do not require you to evidence available funds. We do, however, recommend that you have sufficient funds to cover a 2-year stay.
Across all of our Majesticare care homes, you will find our Home Managers and Customer Relationship Managers are highly experienced in the funding options that are available. We understand how emotional the decision to move into a care home is, which is why we’re always on hand to support you through this process.

How do I know if I am eligible for funding?
Local Authority Funding or NHS Funding such as FNC (Funded Nursing Care) or CHC (Continuing Healthcare) will depend on your individual circumstances.
Our experienced teams will be able to support you and work with you to understand what you may be eligible for.
Please note that should your funding cover part of your Weekly Resident Fees, you and/or a third-party contributor will be responsible for paying the difference to ensure the full amount is paid for.

What about funded Nursing Care?
Should, when care needs are assessed, you require nursing care, you may be entitled to Funded Nursing Care (FNC) payable by the NHS. In this circumstance, we will apply for this on your behalf. If you are successful and for simplicity, this will be paid directly to the care home and you will continue to pay the same amount as you did previously.

Should you have a primary ongoing health need, you may be eligible for Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funding. To be considered for CHC funding, we will arrange for an assessment with a designated nurse which will include contributions from the resident, next of kin and the knowledge from other healthcare professionals involved in caring for the resident.

Will I be required to pay any upfront fees or a deposit?
A deposit equal to 4 weeks’ fees prior to the resident moving in is required upon the signature and return of your Majesticare care homes contract. This will be returned upon the contract ending and may be subject to deductions left on the final account.

We also require £100 pocket monies to be paid upfront prior to moving into a Majesticare care home. Any outstanding amount will be returned upon the contract end date less any deductions.

When would I need to plan for a change in fees?
Majesticare care homes review their fees annually on the 1st of April. You will receive 4 weeks’ notice of an annual change in fees.

Should you be in receipt of any NHS – FNC or CHC funding, and in the occurrence that should this be withdrawn, you and/or a third-party contributor will be liable for payment of the full Resident Weekly Fee.

In certain circumstances, we may need to apply an increase in line with an increase in dependency or in the care needs of the resident. In every event, you will be provided with 4 weeks’ notice prior to any increase.
