Reflecting on a Vibrant Christmas Conference at Majesticare!

This year’s Christmas Conference was an orange-infused extravaganza! We were honoured to host a line-up of exceptional guest speakers who ignited and inspired our beloved Majesticare Family. Amidst the festive ambiance, our team indulged in delectable Christmas snacks, enjoyed a spread of fabulous food, and exchanged laughter as they shared in the joy of the season.

It was a truly wonderful occasion filled with warmth, camaraderie, and the spirit of togetherness. Stay tuned as we relive the joyous moments and embrace the inspiration that will carry us into a fantastic new year at Majesticare!

The dress code… orange of course!!

This year, we hosted our conference at Derbyshire County Cricket Club in one of their fabulous suites. The team from our Majesticare Care Homes travelled to Derbyshire for 2 days full of festivity and team work!

The Wheel of Happiness gifted us with delightful surprises, making the day even more magical.

Kicking off the day with an exceptional presentation, we had Neil Eastwood from Care Friends as our super guest speaker. Neil delved into the significance of the first 90 days of employment, passionately highlighting the crucial moments that shape a newcomer’s experience. His insight underscored the importance of extending a warm welcome to our new team members, ensuring they feel embraced by the Majesticare Family and right at home in their new roles.

Next, we welcomed Mark Topps from The Caring View Podcast, bringing a wealth of expertise on ‘Mental Health in the Workplace.’ Mark’s session was a profound exploration of the challenges surrounding mental health, resonating deeply as fellow speakers and members of the Majesticare Family courageously shared their personal experiences with hardship and burnout in the Care Sector. Our team engaged in an enriching discussion, exchanging insights on the ways they feel supported by Majesticare during challenging times like these.

After a spot of lunch, we kicked off the afternoon with a heart-warming presentation about the charity Adopt a Grandparent!

Guest Speaker Niharika Noakes provided a deeper understanding of her role at Adopt a Grandparent. This impactful charity is dedicated to combating loneliness and isolation among the elderly community by pairing them with volunteers for weekly calls and chats. Inspired by their noble cause, we’re eager to explore ways to integrate this organization into our care homes, offering meaningful opportunities for both team members and residents to connect.

Our teams are well-acquainted with the dynamic Natalie Ravenscroft from the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA)!Β During the session, our very own Ellie Lucas, Activities Lead at Cavendish Park Care Home, engaged in a collaborative Q&A with Natalie. They delved into practical strategies for seamlessly integrating simple yet effective activities and schedules into our homes. The discussion also shed light on the exciting online events hosted by NAPA, sparking inspiration for our future engagement endeavours.

Natalie also got the teams engaged in an afternoon activity to pass around the Christmas parcel…

The Majesticare team delved into the world of sustainability with the guidance of Hannah Montgomery from GraceCares. This organisation is dedicated to recycling and upcycling care equipment, inspiring us to consider innovative ways to minimise our environmental impact. We explored not only the organisation’s ethos but also delved into our own environmental policies. Together, we brainstormed simple yet impactful ways to weave environmental consciousness into our day-to-day lives.

His experiences provided a valuable perspective and added a touch of inspiration to our day.
