Just a quick word from me this week, but I wanted to make sure that I filled you in on a few of the things we got up to this week…
Whilst I have been busy preparing something exciting & new for the home, the team here at Oak Lodge have been making sure that there is plenty to do for our residents. I walked in to one of the lounges earlier in the week & came face to face with a giant owl being expertly held by a resident as part of a ‘Birds of prey’ interactive display. The trip to the tenpin bowling alley was a major hit, the residents faces were a real picture (you can see all of this fun & more at our Facebook page @OakLodgeCareHomeChard), but I think the residents enjoyed their outing to Seaton for fish n’ chips on the seafront the most. They may have looked a little wind swept when they got back, but more importantly they looked happy & didn’t stop talking about it for hours.
My project, as well as making sure the home is running as smoothly as possible, has been overseeing the renovation of out ‘Acorns Suite’. This is almost completed & will give us an extra 8 bedrooms, a lounge & a beautiful cafe for our residents to enjoy. We will be having a grand opening party very soon, so keep following my blog for more details as we get nearer to completion.
That’s all for now – I think I can hear the G&T calling my name
