Resident celebrates her 100th Birthday at Hempton Fields

Family and Friends gather together to celebrate Marjorie Burgess’ 100th Birthday party at Hempton Field Care Home.

Workers at Hempton marked the day by putting 100 balloons throughout the home and arranging a party in her honour. Marjorie’s nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces visited for the occasion as did old family friends.

The landmark birthday was celebrated with a special handmade cake as well as a card from the Queen.

Manager Sally MacGregor said: “Marjorie came to the home in 2009 and since has become a big part of the Hempton family. Her birthday was a beautiful day and I am really happy that she enjoyed herself; it was a lovely party for her.”

Majorie was originally born in the West Country but moved to Thame to be closer to her family.
