Coronation Street star opens Oaktree Court Wellington Rooms

Actress Amanda Barrie, well known to many for her part as Alma Baldwin in Coronation Street, officially opened the new development at Oaktree Court Nursing Home, Wellington.

Somerset Hills Chorus also sang a medley of numbers including Rock Around The Clock for Residents, staff & visitors.  Guests were entertained with the Birds of Prey and also Punch and Judy.

Courtfields Community School student Emma Lane was presented with a gift voucher as her prize for a picture in an art competition with the theme of ‘wildlife’. Emma’s school was also presented with a cheque for £100.

A cheque was presented to  St Margarets Hospice, as the  home raised £820 by organising  a bring a buy sale and raffle.  A big thank you was given to carer Rosemarie  Stevens as she worked extremely hard  in organising all the fundraising activities for the Hospice.
