Courts Gardens (4 miles) Holt, Wiltshire
Visit this peaceful family garden with its roots in the past. From the
bustling high street of Holt, you pass through an unassuming gateway
into a quiet corner. There are many interesting plants with topiary,
ornaments and water features. The garden also has an arboretum, a
kitchen garden and an orchard and refreshments are available.
Bowood House and Gardens (6 miles) Calne, Wiltshire
Bowood has rooms filled with superb furniture, porcelain and family
heirlooms collected over the centuries. The Adam Orangery is now a
magnificent gallery for important 18th and 19th century works as well as
Old Masters. The house and grounds of lie within one of Britain's most
beautiful parks designed by 'Capability' Brown and the Rhododendron
Walks are a must-do.
Bath (12 miles)
Set in rolling Somerset countryside, Bath is a unique city with its
Roman Baths, splendid Abbey and Georgian stone crescents. Not forgetting
its small independent shops and stylish boutiques alongside the
familiar big name stores. The city centre is compact and easily walkable
with grand Georgian streets and small picturesque passageways to
explore, so it’s the perfect place to visit.
