Shipley Country Park (0.5 miles) Heanor

Get out and about for a breath of fresh air at nearby Shipley. The park is set in attractive countryside of woodlands, meadows and lakes with an extensive network of easily used paths, some suitable for wheelchair users. There’s a visitors’ centre, shop, cafe and toilets and hand cycles for disabled people.

Derby Cathedral Centre (9.5 miles) Derby

Well worth a visit, the new Derby Cathedral Centre is located in a grade II listed building opposite the Cathedral. There’s a coffee shop and gift shop, an education centre, a library, exhibition and meeting rooms, a treasury displaying the Cathedral's historic objects, a biblical garden and listening rooms.

Chatsworth House (18 miles) Bakewell

Beautiful Chatsworth is a must-visit attraction. One of Britain's best loved historic estates and home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Chatsworth has famous works of art, a working farmyard, spectacular fountains and the finest shopping and eating, so there’s plenty to do on a day out here.
