Celebrating the 100th Birthday of Mrs Lovedy ‘Peg’ Buttle

Celebrating the 100th Birthday of Mrs Lovedy
‘Peg’ Buttle

On Monday 27 January 2014 Mrs Lovedy Buttle, who is known
by family and friends  as ‘Peg’,
celebrated her 100th Birthday

Oaktree Court Care Home, Wellington.

Vincent Vhinyu, Home Manager welcomed the Deputy Mayor of
Wellington,  David Mitton and Councillor
Andrew Govier. The Deputy Mayor gave a speech and presented Mrs Buttle with a
beautiful flower arrangement on behalf of Wellington Town Council.

Peg was born in Pontipridd, Wales in 1914, but has spent
most of her life as a Wellington Resident.  A family woman through and through and much
loved in her community, Peg Buttle was surrounded on her special day by family,
friends, carers  and neighbours. Family had
flown over from Australia especially for the event.  Residents and Staff at Oaktree Court also
joined in the celebration and sang Happy Birthday as the cake arrived.

As Peg Buttle read  her 100th Birthday Telegram from
Her Majesty the Queen, her Grandson, Chris Buttle said that his Grandma had
always planned to reach her 100th Birthday. The smile on Peg’s face as
she sat in her favourite armchair in Badgers Set Lounge was proof that her
lifelong wish had been fulfilled.
