The 1st September saw  a flurry of  poppies  in the grounds when Lashbrook Care
Centre decided to hold a Poppy Picnic to raise funds for the British
Legion. Pennie Carter activity co-ordinator  asked the
residents what they would like to do  to raise funds and the British
Legion  –  it was an overwhelming decision to do something a bit
different and have a Poppy Picnic. Pennie invited the
local community to attend. Special guests were also
invited from the Henley branch of the British
Legion. The residents and guests enjoyed a lovely afternoon
Chef Manager Andrew Mussett  made a “ Poppy Cake” and  Pennie arranged for  the  Army Poppy
truck  to be at the home. John Green Chairman of
the branch was delighted that the home had arranged such a lovely event on
their behalf.
